Smartflower is a self-contained solar electric system designed to mimic the unfurling of a flower when the sun rises. The custom solar (PV) modules are configured like the petals of a flower and arise from a night-time nesting position to form a circular flower-like array that then tracks the sun, and then stows away at night. The Smartflower dual-axis tracking can deliver up to 40% more energy from the same amount of solar capacity.

Every summer, you'll find sunflowers blooming bright towards the sun. But did you know the story behind them? In Greek mythology, a water nymph named Clytie fell in love with Helios, the sun god, but he didn't reciprocate. In her sorrow, she watched Helios' chariot cross the sky for days. The gods noticed her devotion, and transformed her into a flower to permanently face the sun she loved. The story is remembered as symbolizing hope—forever facing towards warmth and light. SmartFlowers act the same way, always looking towards the sun and representing hope for a greener future.
