Some projects are about more than energy. ⚡

Panels catching light.
A Montana sky overhead.

And a project built around the idea that strong communities start close to home. 🏠🌄
A little teaser from one of our recent commercial installations that impacts local renters… any guesses what this one might be?

What’s actually driving rising energy costs?

It’s not just one thing—it’s a combination of factors:
✔ Fuel price fluctuations (especially natural gas)
✔ Grid upgrades and infrastructure investment
✔ Increased demand from electrification and growth
✔ More extreme and unpredictable weather
✔ Global energy market volatility

All of these put pressure on pricing—and ultimately show up on your energy bill.
Understanding the “why” is the first step—taking action is the next.

Solar is one of the most effective ways to reduce long-term exposure to rising energy costs.

Let’s start the conversation.

Energy costs are rising—and it’s not just you noticing it.

Across Montana, both homeowners and businesses are seeing higher and less predictable energy bills. From electricity rates to heating costs, energy is becoming a larger part of overall expenses.

And with shifting weather patterns and growing demand, managing energy use is getting more complex.

The good news? You have options.

Investing in the next generation of conservation. 🎣🌿

Through our Solar for Conservation partnership with Montana Trout Unlimited, we’re proud to support programs like their Conservation Youth Camp—where students don’t just learn to fish, they learn to protect what matters.

For over 20 years, this camp has brought young Montanans into the field—teaching fly fishing, aquatic ecology, and the importance of healthy coldwater ecosystems through hands-on experience.

From casting and fly tying to exploring real restoration projects, campers walk away with more than skills—they gain a deeper understanding of stewardship and the role they can play in protecting Montana’s waters.

It’s programs like this that make conservation real —and we’re proud to be part of it.

POV: Installing a tilt-up solar array

Did you know that many commercial buildings with flat roofs have plenty of space to host a solar array? To optimize both the output of the panels and the structural integration to the building, we use steel tilt-rack systems.

Smart design = stronger performance.

“Does your solar system work when the power is out?”

“Yes.”

That answer came from real experience—not theory.

⚡ December outage (70,000+ without power):
His batteries powered essential loads for ~24 hours—keeping the well pump and heat running while the grid was down.

🌙 After-dark outage:
“The house was powered entirely by the solar energy stored in our batteries.”
No sun. No grid. Just stored energy keeping everything going.

🔥 March outage + nearby fire:
Downed lines sparked a fire across the river.

“Because of the batteries I did have power—and importantly, the pump in our well was working.”

That meant water on hand.
That meant being prepared.
That meant peace of mind in a high-risk moment.

“The batteries give me peace of mind… Having that solar and battery combination is a safety and comfort factor.”

This is what solar + storage really looks like:
Not just energy.
Resilience.

“We don’t necessarily make a financial decision about everything we do in our lives.”

That’s how this Park Electric Cooperative Customer explains his decision to go solar.
No spreadsheets.
No over-analysis.

“We don’t run a spreadsheet if we’re going to go on vacation… So we just decided we wanted to do it. And we did it.”

For him, solar wasn’t just about savings.

It was about:
• Reducing carbon emissions
• Participating in the energy transition
• Creating a more resilient home
And maybe most importantly—doing something that simply felt right.

“It’s not always about the numbers; sometimes it’s about peace of mind.”

Solar doesn’t have to be purely financial. Sometimes, it’s personal.

Life is beautiful but comes with its own set of energy challenges.

For one Montana homeowner, those challenges were real: harsh winters, long overhead power lines, and the constant risk of outages.

So he made a decision.
Not because it “penciled out.”
Not because of ROI spreadsheets.

“I honestly didn’t think that hard about it at all… this was something that I was just going to do.”

With decades of experience in renewable energy, he understood the bigger picture—but this time, it was personal.

Two homes. Fully electric. A critical well for water.
And one goal: resilience.

👉 Read how solar + battery gave him peace of mind when it mattered most.

For this rural Montana property, energy resilience wasn’t optional—it was essential. With long distribution lines, harsh winters, and increasing wildfire risk, the homeowner chose a solar-plus-battery solution to maintain power during outages. The system now delivers reliable backup energy, keep...

🎥 From the crew’s perspective: every system tells a story.

Commercial solar isn’t just panels—it’s a solution built around real challenges Montana businesses face. Weather swings fast, energy costs fluctuate, and resilience isn’t optional. Our crews design and install systems with those realities in mind—making every decision count for decades of reliable energy.

Ground-mounted systems give businesses flexibility, reliability, and long-term control—making solar more than an upgrade, but real energy infrastructure.
When energy challenges demand more than a quick fix, local expertise, careful planning, and hands-on experience make all the difference. ⚡

⚡ Thoughtful energy for Montana businesses.
