BioSurface Technologies will be set up at the Montana Biofilm Science & Technology Meeting next week, July 15-17 at the . VP of Operations will be at the booth between sessions with products on hand.
The MBM is one of the best biofilm-focused conferences around, hosted by the at Montana State University . Sessions this year cover medical biofilms, food safety, built environment research, CDC and FDA regulatory topics, and emerging technologies. If you're not making it this year, it's worth watching for 2027.

Big news for industrial biofilm research. A new paper from researchers at Montana State University 's has just published the first validated standard operating procedure for the Industrial Surfaces Biofilm Reactor, the BST reactor designed specifically for surfaces that get periodically wetted rather than continuously submerged.

The study confirmed excellent repeatability and reproducibility for P. aeruginosa biofilms and ran proof-of-concept experiments with two multidomain biofilm systems, including a Legionella cooling tower model and a yeast-bacterial coculture stable over a full month.

We recently completed our first cleanup as part of the Montana Department of Transportation Adopt-a-Highway program on a 2-mile stretch of Springhill Road here in and the crew did not come back empty-handed.

At BioSurface Technologies, we believe taking care of the environment goes beyond the lab. Alongside our ongoing efforts to offset our carbon footprint and reduce, reuse, and recycle at our facility, getting outside and cleaning up our corner of the Gallatin Valley felt like the right next step.

Thanks to everyone who came out. We'll see you out there this fall!

We just wrapped a joint webinar with on a faster, more material-realistic approach to biofilm susceptibility testing, and the recording is now live.

The MicroWell™ Biofilm Plate Assay from BioSurface Technologies grows biofilm on coupons made from titanium, stainless steel, silicone, glass, and other materials. After growth, coupons drop directly into Symcel's calScreener™ for metabolic heat measurement on intact biofilm. Results in about 1 to 2 hours. Zero agar plates. Zero dilution series.
