Vertical form-fill-seal pouching will be running live at PACK EXPO International.

KANGA Poucher is RND Automation's compact VFFS platform, built for applications where footprint, flexibility, and changeover matter. Depending on the application and configuration, the KANGA can run 10–20 cycles per minute, with changeovers typically completed in about 10–15 minutes.

At Booth N-5115, you can load a multitool into the KANGA, watch it form, fill, and seal the pouch, and take the finished package home.

This weekend, FUNducation and SAMA - Sarasota-Manatee Area Manufacturers Association gave kids ages 6 to 12 a hands-on look at manufacturing, and Aaron Laine from our team was glad to be part of it.

The Snack Factory & Gaming event celebrated National Manufacturing Month. Kids started by “manufacturing” dirt cups. They followed a process flow sheet, moved station by station from raw materials to a finished product, wore hair nets, gloves, and safety glasses, and tested their cups at a quality station.

Once the cups were made (and eaten), they stopped by the RND Automation station to see a real manufacturing tool up close: a FANUC CRX-5 collaborative robot. Then they studied a finished model and assembled their own SCARA robot from 3D-printed parts to take home. Their last stop was the SAMA booth, where they learned what other manufacturers are building right here in their neighborhood.

“It was a really cool way for FUNducation to introduce a young generation to the concept of manufacturing and what it could mean to them.” – Aaron Laine.

We wrapped up last week with RND’s summer team outing at Inner Compass Brewing.

The work we do every day brings together people across engineering, manufacturing, applications, service, sales, and support. It was good to get some of the team together outside the building for an afternoon and spend a little time catching up away from the day-to-day.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, and to Inner Compass Brewing for having us.

Twenty-five years ago today, nearly 3,000 lives were lost in the September 11th attacks.

Today, we remember the victims, honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, and recognize the families, loved ones, and communities forever changed by that day.
