As we are entering into summer, we are all seizing any chance we can to keep the doors open as long as we can. The days are starting to warm up but the Sea Breezes are just heavenly at the start of every day. The talented Don Cooper nailed the connection between indoor/outdoor living at our N. Shore project.

One of the most rewarding parts of building custom homes is getting to know our clients. We love to learn about how they live and what brings them joy. At our Jewfish Key project, the client shared a funny story about their first visit to the island. The entire family came to the property during molting season for horseshoe crabs. The shoreline was filled with these archaic looking but harmless creatures. When we were trying to find some fun art to fun to add to the ground level - the Horsehoe Crab was the only option. We quickly engaged the talented Melanie Smith to work her magic. Isn't she lovely?

We had the honor of working on the restoration and addition of the Van Wezel Estate in Sarasota. This beautiful piece of history was pure joy to work on. Our greatest challenge was to focus on materials that would have been typical in the 1930's. Marble, walnut, brass and a little artistic whimsy became our mission. Feel free to check out each bathroom in this outstanding historical home.

One of the key markers of a successful build is the inclusion of a qualified interior design firm. We have had the pleasure of working with design firms throughout the country. At our Modern River House project, the client brought in the Interior Design services of Restoration Hardware. They listened well, produced beautiful documents and the installation was flawless. The entire process was a pleasure, and we would gladly do it all over again!

Every family has their dream home sketched out in their heads. We love the experience of listening and learning from our clients on about all of the little things that bring them joy. The owners of our Harbor House project were all about creating a welcoming home for all members of their beautiful family. Throughout the build we had the pleasure of meeting the grandma, the kids and even the family dog. This home truly captures the essence of this low key and fun loving family!
