Bradford Mayor Tom Riel said during Tuesday evening’s council meeting that the city expects a positive announcement forthcoming regarding Bradford Regional Medical Center. Parent company Kaleida Health announced Feb. 17 that BRMC’s inpatient, emergency and long-term care services would close by the middle of this year, leaving the hospital to operate an ambulatory/outpatient care model. Elected officials expressed frustration with the announcement, calling it “premature,” indicating that talks were and remain ongoing toward a favorable resolution. MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 10
and 18 inches.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...From 10 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Widespread
and prolonged travel disruptions are expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will overspread the area late Saturday
night, becoming heavy at times through Sunday with accumulation
rates of one to two inches per hour at times. Frigid temperatures
and wind chills are expected before, during, and after the winter
storm. Some blowing and drifting snow is possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

Project Update – Mt. Jewett, PA

Big progress this week at our Mt. Jewett site! Our team successfully completed a 300-yard concrete slab pour, including two continuous trench drains running the full length of the slab. This slab will support a specialized building with railroad track running directly through the center, allowing rail access right into the facility.

Conditions on site were cold, but our crew pushed through and delivered a clean, efficient pour from start to finish. Steel er****on is scheduled to begin at the start of next month, and we’re excited to share more as the project continues to take shape.

🏗 Project Spotlight: Precision Concrete Foundation Build – Corry, PA

From concept to completion — our team wrapped up a technically challenging industrial foundation project in Corry, Pennsylvania, involving the construction of a custom reinforced concrete pit to support large-scale manufacturing equipment.

Working within an active production facility under a 30-ton overhead crane, our crews had limited workspace and zero margin for error. The project required detailed sequencing to ensure the surrounding structure remained fully operational while excavation, shoring, and foundation work progressed safely.

The foundation design called for multiple complex concrete and grout pours, each precisely timed and reinforced to meet strict dimensional and performance tolerances. Coordination between field teams and engineering staff was essential to maintain alignment, elevation, and concrete quality throughout every stage.

We’re proud to share that the project was completed on schedule, within scope, and with zero safety violations or recordable incidents — a reflection of our team’s dedication to planning, precision, and professionalism.

Great history and legacy - glad Kessel was able to be a part of it through all these years

106 years ago this month R.Blaske & Co. opened there doors at 511 West State St. They specialized in sheet metal and radiator repair. We have been adding products ever since.
