SNOW UPDATE

The National Weather Service is still calling for a general 4–6 inches of snow in Monmouth and Ocean counties (our zone of focus). Based on the latest data this evening, we wanted to share a forecast that is a bit higher to prepare you for the possibility of a more impactful event than the baseline official forecast.

The forecast below is by Tomer Berg, PhD, a highly regarded meteorologist. He’s seeing signals that a narrow but intense snow band could set up overnight. If that band lines up just right, some areas could exceed 6 inches, with brief periods of heavy snowfall.

This is not a guarantee, but it is enough of a signal to plan for worse-case travel and cleanup conditions than a 4–6” event. And it could be in a narrow area, e.g. Freehold could see 6+ but Manalapan sees 4”.

Timing: Snow develops overnight and continues into tomorrow morning. Morning travel will be hazardous, and with buttery cold blasting in during the afternoon, anything untreated will be ice.

As always, small shifts in storm placement matter a lot, but we’d rather you be prepared for the possibility of a higher-impact scenario if you have plans tomorrow.
