Following the completion of the weld team assembly, a thorough inspection was conducted on the requisite welding using nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. Specifically, the C30B70 crane boom and pedestal extension were subjected to rigorous evaluation through ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT). These stringent quality control measures are crucial for validating our product design and quality assurance program. Subsequently, the pedestal extension will be welded to the lower base for further machining, while the boom will be prepared for the blast and paint process. EBI assembly technicians are currently processing a C/TC30 base assembly, which features a unique opposing V groove design incorporating cylindrical roller bearings. Specifically, this size base requires 79 standard cylindrical roller bearings, each with a 2-inch diameter. The technician will insert the bearings through the access port until all are installed. Following installation, the assembly will undergo rotation using the install swing gearbox for 30 minutes, with 15 minutes in each direction. Notably, inspecting these bearings does not require disassembly; simply removing the plug, extracting a bearing, and visually inspecting the interior is sufficient before reassembling.
