The importance of a clean filter goes beyond just maintaining good air quality. A dirty or clogged filter can lead to blower motor failures because restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder. Additionally, an extremely dirty evaporator coil can cause icing, which prevents the system from properly cooling and removing humidity.

We recently helped a customer who ended up needing their filter replaced, as well as their evaporator coil removed and extensively cleaned before being reinstalled. This repair was much more costly than simply replacing a 10-dollar filter
