Morris Manufacturing & Sales But that wasn't always the case. W.E. Morris founded the company in 1962 as a repair center for local residents and the farming community at large. ft.

Morris Manufacturing is a global supplier of high-precision, close-tolerance machined metal parts for Aerospace, Military, Industrial, Agricultural, and the Big 3 Tier 1 Automotive groups. With a 61,000 square foot facility and employment levels reaching 200, Morris Manufacturing and Sales Corporation serves high volume OEM automotive drive train plants. Housed in a 2,400 sq. facility, capabilitie

s were basic machining, welding and fabrication. He was soon joined by his eldest son, Ralph L. Morris, who brought with him expertise maintaining machine tools used in the aerospace industry. Operations were expanded to include maintenance and replacement parts serving commercial industries throughout central Indiana. Later in the second generation came the introduction of replacement parts for use by the U.S. Department of Defense. The facility was expanded to 3,600 sq. and employment rose to 10-15 with capabilities of large diameter turning and milling. In 1974, Michael L. Morris, representing the third generation, returned to the family business and worked closely with the company until the unexpected passing of R.L. Morris in 1978. Michael continued in the D.O.D. mission and expanded into other arenas of supply, working primarily with small manufacturers and supplying them with contract components for assembly. During this period facilities were expanded to 8,000 sq. and Automatic Screw Machines and Computer Controlled Machining were introduced. Morris’ business line expanded from small contract orders to medium size production runs. Opportunities arose in the mid 1990s to work with the automotive industry for supplemental capacity and line interruption business. To meet these, Morris moved to its current location in Brazil, Indiana in 1996. Today, led by a team that includes Paul L. "Chip" Morris, the fourth generation involved with the company, Morris Manufacturing utilizes lean enterprise tools in every facet of its business. Our systems include Kaizen activities emphasizing motion economy and ergonomics, Kanban, TPM, 5-S, SPC, cellular and pull manufacturing, among others. Morris Manufacturing is committed to shipping a quality product to the customer on time. It's that simple.

For 28 years, David B. Jolley has been part of Morris Manufacturing's evolution. Joining the company in 1998 as our QS9000 Coordinator, David has grown into Director of Technology, where he leads our quality, engineering, and technology functions—including continuous improvement, systems design, IT, and our IATF 16949 program.

One of David’s proudest accomplishments has been seeing our commitment to quality recognized through a run of GM Supplier Quality Awards in 2014, 2016, and 2018–2021, along with the 2018 FCA Outstanding Supplier Quality Award. For David, these awards represent more than recognition—they’re proof that the systems and culture built over the years deliver real results.

Perhaps the biggest change he’s witnessed is just how far manufacturing has come—from manual operations to today’s integration of AI. Through it all, David has continued to learn, adapt, and help Morris Manufacturing move forward. His advice to those just starting out? “Get comfortable with change. In manufacturing, it’s the only constant.”

And perhaps his guiding philosophy says it best: “Not all changes are improvements, but no improvements come without change.”

Here’s to 28 years of leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement. Thank you, David, for helping shape where we are today—and where we’re headed next.
