Hose safety is not something any one fabricator figures out alone.

The Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution, NAHAD and its Hose Safety Institute set the assembly guidelines, training standards, and best practices that responsible fabricators build to. Southeastern Hose fabricates to NAHAD guidelines alongside EJMA, ASME B31.3, and Chlorine Institute standards where they apply.

Our involvement goes further than compliance. Trey Travis, our Vice President of Operations, serves on NAHAD's 2026 Board of Directors.

Labor Day is a good time to say something plainly: American industry runs on skilled people.

For more than 60 years, the assemblies leaving our Bremen, Georgia facility have been cut, fitted, welded, tested, and packed by hand. Our team carries more than 500 years of combined experience across welding, fabrication, sales, and administration. That experience is the product. The hose is just what it looks like when it is finished.

To our team, and to every welder, machinist, pipefitter, millwright, maintenance tech, and plant operator keeping this country's facilities running: thank you.

September is Hose Safety Awareness Month. This year NAHAD expanded it from a single week to the full month, and Southeastern Hose is taking part.

Safety starts long before an assembly reaches a jobsite. It starts with the questions we ask before we build it.

That is what STAMPED is for. Most people think of it as an ordering checklist. It is closer to a risk checklist. An assembly that is undersized, under-rated for temperature, or incompatible with the media it carries does not just underperform. It becomes a hazard to the people working around it.

The two that get overlooked most often are Media and Temperature. Media means the actual fluid or gas in the line, including concentration and any cleaning or sanitizing agents that run through it. Temperature means both the media temperature and the ambient conditions the assembly lives in.

Both matter more than people expect, because published pressure ratings are tied to specific operating conditions. Change the temperature or the media and those ratings may no longer apply the way you are assuming they do.
