RHS Raptor Robotics VEX Teams 57249 attended the 2024 Tennessee VEX High School State Championship March 1st & 2nd.

THE BIG NEWS: For a 3rd season in a row, 57249 qualified a team for the World Championship and 2nd in a row to have 2 or more teams qualified.

A-Team “Goose” went undefeated 9 - 0 finishing in 2nd place. However, they lost their quarterfinal match by only 5 points. A-team did earn the tournament’s “Build Award”.

B-Team “Rooster” won 5 of 9 in qualifiers, finishing 17th. Unfortunately, they lost in the R16 elimination round as they were against the alliance which became Tournament Champions. In the Skills portion of the tournament, they had some great programming and driver runs ending with a combined score of 336 which earned them an invitation to the World Championship!

C-Team “Maverick” had tough qualifying round pairings as they won 4 of 9, finishing 43rd. During the main event, they fell to the number 1 seeded team in the quarterfinals. However, they too did well in the Skills competition with a combined score of 315, earning an invitation to the World Championship!

D-Team “JOKR” had a strong tournament winning 7 of 9 and finishing 23rd in the qualifiers. In the main event, they lost a heart breaker in R16 due to an unfortunate wiring malfunction. As an all-freshman team with no prior robotics experience, they had an incredible season!

Congratulations to Raptor Robotics for a great season!

Team 57249A; Victoria You, Aarav Dholakia, John Mason, Preetham Dyapa, and robot “GOOSE” had a tough start Friday evening losing the first 3 qualifiers. They re-grouped Saturday fighting back up the standings winning their last 4 qualifying matches. They finished ranked 23rd and made it to the R16 elimination round.

Team 57249C; Aneek Polepalli, Varun Kilaru, Aathi Madhanagopal, Rohan Kilaru, Manvik Barkakati, Yuntong “Tony” Guo, and robot “Maverick” had a tough start too as they lost their first 3 qualifiers Friday. With Raptor determination they also re-grouped Saturday winning their first 2 matches. They finished the day ranked 59th and selected as an alliance partner for R16.

R16 Alliance selection starts with the 1st ranked team so only 32 teams advance. That shows VEX is more than just rankings, teamwork and friendships built with other teams pays dividends.

Raptor Robotics next event is Saturday November 11th at Springfield High School.

RHS Raptor Robotics Club - 3 teams Qualify for VEX WORLDs!!!

Another great weekend, RHS RRC Teams competed at the Tennessee State Championship March 3rd and 4th. It was our 1st season to have 4 teams qualified for the event of 64 teams from TN. They all performed exceptionally well and made it into the R16 elimination rounds of 32 teams.

Teams A, C, & D moved through R16 into the Quarterfinals. A & C went on to the Semifinals which earned them spots to the World Championship in Dallas, Texas April 25-27. Team A double qualified for WORLDs by earning the "Tennessee State Build Award". Team D also qualified for WORLDs based on their Skills score! Team A brought home 2 trophies and Team C brought home 1.

This is the 2nd year in a row RHS has a team qualified for the VEX World Championship and 1st season to have more than one! It's certainly a very proud moment for our entire Ravenwood community to show STEM activities are thriving at RHS!
