Are We Prepared for a Rescue?
During CPR & AED Awareness Week, it's a question every workplace, school, sports facility, and community should be asking.
When sudden cardiac arrest strikes, every second matters. Survival depends on recognizing the emergency, calling 911, starting high-quality CPR, and using an AED as quickly as possible.
But approximately 15-20% of AEDs may not be ready for rescue when needed. Having the right equipment is important, but true readiness is process-dependent, not device-dependent.
The good news? Every organization can take steps today to improve its readiness for a cardiac emergency.
