🌲 Tree Fact Friday 🌲

When most people think of trees, they think of lumber, paper, or furniture.

But trees contribute to far more products than many people realize. Ingredients and materials derived from trees can be found in everyday items like toothpaste, ice cream, clothing, diapers, cardboard, and more.

Trees are part of our daily lives in ways we often never notice.

Out of numerous applications, only 15 students were selected to participate in the Rex Lumber Training Facility Summer School Bootcamp.

This free program introduces young adults to manufacturing through hands on learning and real world experiences.

The first week included safety training, mill tours, a machine shop tour, and activities focused on measurements and shop math. Students left with a better understanding of the skills, responsibilities, and opportunities that exist within the manufacturing industry.

We're excited to follow their progress throughout the summer.

Congratulations to Nick Wilson on his hard hat graduation at Apalachee Pole Company!

We're proud to celebrate team members across our family of companies as they continue to learn, grow, and advance their careers.

👏 Congratulations, Nick!

Congratulations to Nick Wilson (left) on graduating from our initial training program and earning his hard hat as a Millwright Helper.

Nick received his hard hat from General Manager Daniel Bloch (right), recognizing the hard work, training, and commitment required to reach this milestone.

Hard hat graduations represent more than completing training. They mark the beginning of new opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Congratulations, Nick!

🌲 Tree Fact Friday 🌲

Trees are constantly moving water from the ground into the atmosphere while they grow.

Even after harvest, much of that moisture remains inside the wood. Before lumber is ready for use, it spends time in a dry kiln where moisture is carefully removed.

The next time you see a cloud above the mill, take a closer look. What appears to be smoke is usually water v***r released during the drying process.

Another day, another important Bristol debate.

Sleep with socks on or off?

The board has spoken:
🦶 Off: 11
🧦 On: 1

We're not saying the one sock sleeper is wrong... but they're definitely outnumbered. 😂

We've started a “Topic of the Day” board, and we are already learning a lot about each other. 😂

The question:
“Who is MOST likely to get a speeding ticket?”

We won’t say Lilimey Francisco won by a landslide… but the board might. 🚔

We’re pretty sure everyone had fun making their case on this one.

No lost time means no missed work injuries.
No recordables means no injuries requiring medical treatment beyond first aid.

That is what makes these milestones such a major accomplishment:

• Planer Mill: 3 YEARS No Recordables
• Lumber Yard, Kilns & Boilers: 1 YEAR No Recordables

Milestones like these are not easy to achieve. They reflect a team that stays focused, follows procedures, communicates, and looks out for one another every single day.

The team celebrated the accomplishment with a lunch on April 24, 2026, recognizing the hard work and commitment it takes to achieve milestones like these.
