August feels like peak AC season, but it's also when smart homeowners start locking in their fall furnace tune-up. Once the weather turns, everyone remembers their furnace at the same time, and service schedules fill up fast. Getting ahead of that now means you're not waiting a week for an appointment on the first cold night of the year. It also gives us time to catch small issues while parts are still easy to get and nothing is urgent. A five-minute call now can save you a cold morning in November. Ask about getting on the fall schedule before the rush starts.

If your AC has been running fine all summer and suddenly starts blowing air that's not quite cold, refrigerant is often the culprit. Small leaks don't show up right away. They get worse under the kind of constant load August puts on your system, until one day the air coming out just isn't cutting it anymore. Running low on refrigerant also makes your compressor work harder than it should, which shortens its lifespan. Catching a slow leak in August saves you from a bigger repair in September. If the air feels warmer than usual even though the unit sounds like it's working, don't wait it out.

Cooled air has to travel through your attic before it reaches your bedrooms, and that's where a lot of it disappears. Loose connections, gaps at the joints, and crushed flex duct all let conditioned air escape into unconditioned space instead of your living room. Your system ends up cooling the attic more than your house, and the energy bill reflects it. Rooms at the end of the ductwork are usually the ones that feel warmest, even with the thermostat set the same as everywhere else. Sealing those leaks is a quick fix compared to what you lose every month it goes unaddressed. If certain rooms never seem to cool down, this is often why.

Did you know appliances or machinery need an extra jolt of power to get going? It's like when an aircraft revs its engines during takeoff to kickstart movement and soar into the sky. 🛫

This surge of power is crucial for initiating motion, just like the burst of power needed to start certain devices. In technical terms, it's measured in (kilovolt-amperes), representing that initial surge of vital for getting things moving.

So, when you hear about a generator boasting superior motor starting capability, it's like having that extra engine power to ensure a smooth takeoff every time. 💡⚡️

Running the AC all day during a heat wave puts more strain on your electrical panel than most homeowners realize. Add in a window unit, a dehumidifier, or a couple of fans, and older panels start tripping breakers that never gave you trouble before. That's usually not a wiring problem. It's a panel that was sized for appliances from a different era. Repeated trips are still worth checking, since a breaker working too hard can wear out or overheat. If you're resetting the same breaker more than once this summer, have us take a look before you're stuck without power on the hottest day of the year.

A house can sit at 72 degrees on the thermostat and still feel sticky and uncomfortable. That's humidity, not temperature, and your AC is responsible for both. Ohio summers push a lot of moisture into the air, and a system running short cycles won't dehumidify properly even if it hits the target temperature. Clammy air, foggy windows, or a faint musty smell are signs your system is cooling but not pulling moisture the way it should. A tech can check your airflow and cycle times to see what's going on. If your house never quite feels dry even when it's cool, that's worth a look.
