I've lost count of how many times I've heard "but that's cheating" from well-intentioned blacksmiths who defend a purist idea of craft as the only standard of excellence. When planning new ironwork projects I like to overlay photographs of where the piece will go with tracing paper to work out my ideas with sketches. This particular project is a small table with an iron base. The leaf shapes will help to tie it into the stained glass in the cabinet above.
