Regency was proud to participate in OSHA Safety Standdown Week. Over the course of this week toolbox talks were held across our jobsites covering safe work practices following the Recognize, Respond, and Respect methodology.

Monday’s discussions focused on the importance of recognizing hazards, placing emphasis on identifying hazards based on the source of energy. Tuesday’s topic of responding then advanced the conversation to responding to threats with their energy source in mind. Thursday’s topic of respect then established the necessity of consistent implementation of and adherence to a safety plan.
On Wednesday jobsites participated in the National Safety Standdown to prevent falls, in which work was paused to allow for a reflection on the leading cause of construction fatalities and injuries – falls.

Today wrap up discussions are being held to recap the Recognize, Respond, Respect methodology and how it can be best applied to a variety of projects.

By investing extra time to highlight the importance of safety, we are committed to cultivating a culture where safety is always top of mind.

Yesterday the The University of Akron held a ‘ground breaking’ ceremony for the first phase of the Knight Center for Creative Engagement project! In lieu of ground to break, we swapped out gold shovels for gold sledgehammers, and Superintendent Corey Hartung created a ceremonial wall to demolish!

This major renovation of the Polsky Building will first focus on creating new classroom spaces on the second floor, and new administrative spaces on the third floor. The second phase will then transform the first floor and mezzanine to create an open area to house e-sport space, a student art gallery, medical offices, and more. We are extremely excited to be a part of this project that aims to reshape the intersection of downtown Akron and the University.

Yesterday, Tari S. Rivera and Janelle Hinkle represented Regency at the 2026 CUBE Symposium hosted by Greater Cleveland Partnership.

This year’s theme, Built Strong, focused on what it takes to create lasting impact across businesses, careers, and communities. We’re proud to be engaged in discussions around collaboration, opportunity, and building a stronger, more inclusive future for the built environment. A standout moment from the event was hearing from panelists in the first cohort of the Built Strong capacity-building program, an initiative centered on strengthening minority-owned construction firms and expanding opportunity across the industry.

Great to see so many partners and leaders coming together to help shape what’s next. Thank you to Greater Cleveland Partnership for inviting us!

We’re excited to kick off a new project for Woodridge Local School District!

Construction is officially underway on the Woodridge High School Science Hub Renovation — designed to modernize and enhance learning environments for biology, chemistry, physical geology, anatomy, and physics.

This renovation will convert the existing science hub into flexible, future-ready classrooms that will support any science discipline. Key upgrades include new fume hoods, reconfigured layouts, and improved preparation and storage areas for staff.

This project is especially meaningful for our team. Regency carpenter Denver Cody is returning to his alma mater to help bring this space to life. A 2019 graduate and former multi-sport athlete for Woodridge, Denver has been given the opportunity to support his school once again.

We’re proud to support projects that strengthen our local schools and communities.

Yesterday we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with an office tradition, our team potluck. We enjoyed corned beef sliders, and everything from homemade sides to sweet treats.

It’s a good way to embrace our workplace culture and the people who make it what it is. Thanks to everyone who brought a dish and helped make the afternoon a great one!

🔨👷‍♀️Recapping Women in Construction Week! 👷‍♀️🔨

Throughout last week, our team was out in the community supporting and uplifting women in construction!

Regency attended the Greater Cleveland Council of Tradeswomen – WIC Dinner on Wednesday. Each year, attendees receive a commemorative t-shirt that is later turned into quilts, creating a unique tradition that celebrates the history of the event. Seeing the creative designs year after year — from Rosie-inspired graphics to superhero-themed designs and other fun variations — is always a highlight.

Staff also participated in several NAWIC Cleveland Chapter 156 events, supporting women across the industry.

One of the most inspiring moments last week was having Tari S. Rivera, Janelle Hinkle and Claire Novak as featured panelists in the Saint Joseph Academy Women’s Leadership Symposium. They shared their experiences, gave advice, encouraged students to explore careers in construction, and spoke about the many opportunities available in the industry.

The celebration concluded on Saturday with Tari speaking at the Polaris Career Center BuildHER Event, helping inspire the next generation of women considering careers in construction.

Regency staff also had many opportunities to enjoy celebratory treats throughout the week – starting out with donuts at the office on Monday 🍩 and cinnamon rolls on Thursday! Sister Susan of Women Religious Archives Collaborative even came by the jobsite to drop off donuts on Friday morning.

Women in Construction Week is a reminder that when women build, communities grow stronger. We are proud of the women on our team and grateful for the opportunity to support and encourage future leaders in the industry. 💪🏗️
