Water plays a major role in the life of a tree, and that doesn't end the moment it's harvested.

Much of that moisture remains inside the wood until it is dried in a kiln. This process helps produce stable, high-quality lumber for construction and other uses.

The last week of school feels like the perfect time to recognize something special about teachers: they never stop being students themselves.

This spring, we were proud to play a part in the Wood Magic Science Fair and Teacher Workshop, where educators had the opportunity to learn more about Mississippi forestry, sustainability, and the forest products industry.

Programs like this help connect classroom learning to real careers and real opportunities right here at home. We’re grateful for teachers who are always looking for new ways to grow, improve, and bring meaningful experiences back to their students.
