Olympian Motors, an American automotive and technology company based in New York, builds retro-futuristic cars that would not look out of place in 1921.

Olympian’s vision board for the Model 01 includes both the midcentury American and the Art Deco eras. He says he drew inspiration from James Bond and even more so from the industrialist aesthetic of trains made in the United States from 1920 to 1940—like the Pioneer Zephyr.

“Traditional automakers used to create cool-looking, iconic cars, [but have] basically recycled the same standardized, boring, mundane designs over and over in the past 30 to 40 years,” Canarslan says.
