Surprising fact: It’s not the world’s largest plastic-consuming countries that contribute the most to ocean plastic 🌊

A 2021 study in Science revealed that smaller nations like the Philippines top the list, due to a high coastline-to-land ratio, heavy rainfall, and poor waste management that channels plastic into the sea.

Did you know...all of the domesticated mammals on Earth have a combined biomass more than 10 times the weight of wild mammals? This is according to a study by the Weizmann Institute in Israel and includes animals like cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, goats and our beloved pet dogs and cats.

What about us humans? Well, altogether we're 6.5 times the weight of all our warm-blooded Earthmates.

"Our research shows, in quantifiable terms, the magnitude of our influence and how our decisions and choices in the coming years will determine what’s left of nature for future generations," said professor Ron Milo, whose lab conducted the study.
