STXBAA Statement on the Central Texas Floods
The South Texas Business Aviation Association extends its deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the catastrophic flooding across Central Texas. Lives have been lost, homes destroyed, and entire communities displaced. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and all those facing the long road to recovery.
In the past few days, many of our members have reached out asking how they can help. As a 501c3 nonprofit, STXBAA is accepting donations specifically for flood relief. Every dollar marked for “Flood Relief” will go directly to trusted organizations providing real-time aid on the ground, including the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and others offering shelter, meals, medical care, and supplies.
At this time, search and rescue operations are being handled by state and federal agencies with trained teams and dedicated resources. Because of the complexity of those efforts, we do not currently recommend members deploy aircraft or crews unless formally requested. We are in communication with authorities and will notify members if a coordinated aviation response becomes appropriate.
If you feel moved to help, here are a few meaningful ways to get involved:
• Donate at stxbaa.org/donate and write “Flood Relief” in the memo box
• Volunteer through the Red Cross or other local disaster response agencies by visiting redcross.org
• Share verified donation links and hotline info across your networks
• Offer resources like hangar space, logistics, or local support by contacting [email protected]
We are also accepting supply donations at Million Air locations at KHOU, KAUS, and KSAT, as well as Henriksen Jet Center locations at KEDC and KTME. Essential items like bottled water, hygiene kits, non-perishable food, clothing, and bedding are especially helpful. STXBAA is currently working with several operators who are coordinating with local officials to ensure these supplies reach the organizations and communities that need them most.
For those searching for loved ones, a missing persons hotline is active at 830-258-1111. Emotional support is also available 24/7 through the Disaster Distress Helpline at 1-800-985-5990.
We are grateful to our members for your compassion, your generosity, and your willingness to help. STXBAA will continue to share updates and opportunities for action as they become available.
Together, we can help Central Texas recover and rebuild.
