We have hit the ground running this spring working on a City Of Duluth Lead Line Replacement Project with Hovland Inc. and MJ Companies, LLC

We are performing the “trenchless” method to install new water lines using our pit drill from TT Technologies.

It brings us great joy to help provide clean and safe drinking water to Duluth residents!

The summer keeps flying by for us here at K&H Excavating Inc. Below are some current photos of our progress at the River West Development in Duluth.

The main road on this phase of the development has been named Eric Shaffer Way. Eric was the Chief Engineer Of Utilities for The City Of Duluth, and was also the former Boss/Mentor for nearly 7 years to one of our owners, Scott Hegg. Eric tragically passed away in a snowmobile accident last winter. He will be missed by many members of the community and all of us here at K&H.

A total of 24,000 cubic yards of dirt has been moved, 600+ feet of sanitary sewer mains and 600+ of water mains are now installed, and services for the 14 new houses are being installed this week.

The transformation of this site has been challenging and we are proud of our hardworking team meeting deadlines and continuing to go above and beyond everyday!

We have been extremely busy so far this year at K&H Excavating Inc.

Here are a few photos of our current development project we are working on below Spirit Mountain. We are in the process of moving 12,000+ cubic yards of soil, installing utilities, and preparing the site for 14 new houses. Also included are pictures of some residential utility and building preps we have done this spring.

We are still adding jobs to the schedule for late summer/early fall through freeze up.

Here at K&H Excavating Inc. we believe in helping out the community whenever possible. Today we were in Brookston, MN helping out with installing sand bags around houses and structures while the mighty St. Louis River was rising very fast.

It’s amazing to see a community come together in a time of need, and we were happy to help.

Also involved were Arrow Asphalt LLC and ZJ Dirt Works

Here at K&H Excavating Inc. we believe that knowledge and customer satisfaction is the #1 priority! With that being said we also believe that having properly trained/experienced employees is vital to this process, so for 2023 we have officially signed into the IUOE Local 49 Operators Union!
