Anybody can make a unique design on paper, but only a few can take the idea and make it a reality!

This project took a lot of time and required stretching our CNC machine beyond its limits quite literally by machining over 25 of these structural timber frame posts, many of which were 9+ feet long, but we made it work with our 8 foot long machine bed. This machine never ceases to impress us!

These flooring panels are cut from a rigid, textured plastic for good grip, easy clean, durable protection, and they won’t slide around or bunch up as you move around like other options available currently. These were a surprisingly challenging part, requiring 6 different molds to make just one piece but the struggle is worth it and they look amazing and we were able to learn a lot during this project!

We often get asked what the hardest part of the composites manufacturing process is, here’s the not so short, short answer.

Every stage is equally important as the next, and every element of that stage is critical to the success of everything else.

Without a good design we can’t machine a good plug, without a good plug we can’t make a good mold, without a good mold we can’t make a good part.

Then come the substages, without a good CAD program or individual to run it we can’t make a good design, without a good CNC machine we can’t machine a good plug, without the proper mold/plug prep we can’t get a good part, without proper material selection and individual to lay up the materials we can’t get a good structure, without a good painter and paint booth we can’t get a good finish.

It goes far deeper then that, but by being able to conduct every stage of the process in house we were able to develop the perfect process for the best possible results.

Long story short, trust the process!
