During shop operations, Francisco Villalobos identified a buffing machine in use without a guard installed, creating a serious exposure to rotating equipment hazards.

He took immediate action.

Francisco exercised Stop Work Authority and:
• Stopped work as soon as the hazard was identified
• Communicated the risks associated with missing guarding
• Reinforced proper equipment setup requirements
• Ensured corrective actions were completed before work resumed

This wasn’t just intervention, it was leadership.

Francisco demonstrated strong hazard recognition, the confidence to act, and a clear commitment to maintaining safe working conditions for everyone in the shop.

Every miscalculated displacement volume has a price tag - wasted slurry, extended rig time, or worse, remedial work to fix channeling.

During active pressure testing operations, Chris Breaux identified multiple hydraulic and control hoses routed across the rig floor, creating slip, trip, and line-of-fire hazards in a high-traffic area.

Chris didn’t hesitate.

He immediately took control of the situation by:
• Roping off the affected area
• Installing barricades and warning signage
• Communicating the hazard to all personnel
• Restricting access during live operations

This wasn’t just a correction; it was proactive hazard recognition and leadership in the moment.

Chris demonstrated exactly what we expect from our teams, strong situational awareness, accountability, and the willingness to step in and make the job safer for everyone on location.
