From Retail Space to Pickleball Courts!

We're making great progress on our latest project for The Picklr in the Greenwood community.

Our team is transforming a 35,000-square-foot former retail building, once home to HH Gregg and several other businesses, into a new indoor pickleball facility.

With rough-in work nearing completion and finishes now getting underway, we're excited to see this space taking shape!

Projects like this are a great example of how existing buildings can be reimagined to serve new purposes, bringing fresh opportunities for recreation, connection, and community.

HP Legacy is proud to be part of an exciting improvement project at Purdue University's historic Armory!

Built in 1918, the Purdue Armory has served generations of students and remains an important part of campus life. The 40,000-square-foot facility is home to Purdue's ROTC program and provides space for classrooms, offices, alumni events, and graduation activities.

Our team is currently completing HVAC upgrades as part of the first of four planned phases of improvements to the building.

A major milestone? For the first time in the Armory's 108-year history, its drill floor will have conditioned air!

This photo captures the offloading of a large new air handler that will help make that possible.

We're excited to help modernize this historic facility while preserving the space that has served the Purdue community for more than a century.

Not every impactful project is visible when the work is done.

HP Legacy recently completed an underground sanitary sewer project at Smith Hall on the Purdue University Campus replacing critical infrastructure beneath an area traveled by hundreds of students every day.

Working underground meant our team had to be prepared for the unexpected—particularly the condition of the existing sewer system once excavation began. Through careful planning, coordination, and problem-solving, we successfully installed new piping and Doghouse manholes while keeping the project on schedule and minimizing disruption to the surrounding campus.

The finished work may be underground, but its impact will help keep Smith Hall operating smoothly for years to come.

Welcome to the HP Legacy family, The Picklr of Greenwood!

We’re excited to partner with The Picklr to transform an existing building at 8921 US Highway 31 S. into a new indoor pickleball destination for the Greenwood community.

Our team will be completing the tenant improvement work, helping give the existing space a new purpose and bringing The Picklr’s vision for the location to life.

One of the biggest lessons Jake has taken away from his second internship at HP Legacy isn't about construction—it's about growth.

"One thing I've learned from the HP Legacy team is that there's a learning curve to everything. You don't immediately know how to do something well. It takes time to develop skills. That's made me more willing to try new things, learn from mistakes, and keep improving."

When asked what he'd tell another student considering an internship with HP Legacy, his answer was simple:

"HP Legacy is an amazing place to gain hands-on experience. The work ethic of the team and the guidance they provide is something you can't get just anywhere."

One year can make a big difference.

During his second summer at HP Legacy, Jake has taken on significantly more responsibility—including serving as the superintendent on his own job site.

"Compared to last summer, I have much more responsibility with my own job site that I am the superintendent of. I coordinate with subcontractors, study the drawings and specifications, and work hard to meet Purdue's requirements. It's given me great experience for overseeing larger projects in the future."

He's also had the opportunity to experience moments you don't forget—like watching a mobile crane lift air handling units onto the roof of a 14-story building.

We're proud to provide opportunities that give our interns real-world experience and prepare them for what's next.

Welcome Back, Jake!

When Jake Covell had the opportunity to return to HP Legacy for a second summer internship, the decision was easy.

"The reason that I wanted to come back to HP Legacy was the people. You'd be hard pressed to find another company with coworkers as amazing as those at HP Legacy. Everyone is there to help one another and get the job done."

Jake also shared that HP Legacy's commitment to integrity stood out to him from day one.
