Storm Season Reminder: Be Prepared for Power Outages

Spring storms can bring strong winds and lightning that may lead to power outages. One way to be prepared is with GenerLink, now available through Jackson County REMC.

GenerLink is a device installed behind your electric meter that allows you to safely connect a portable generator to your home during an outage. Once connected, you can power essential appliances through your home’s breaker panel without running extension cords throughout the house.

It’s designed with safety in mind—automatically disconnecting your home from the electric grid while the generator is running, helping protect utility crews working to restore power.
