Did you know heat can change how gases behave?

It’s easy to think of a gas leak as a fixed, predictable thing, but temperature plays a bigger role than many people realize.

As temperatures climb, gases expand and become less dense. That means a gas that normally settles low to the ground might rise and spread differently on a hot afternoon than it does on a cool morning. Volatile compounds also evaporate faster in heat, which can push concentrations higher in places you might not expect.
