A common failure we see in drop boxes and differentials is blown spider gears - or “nest kits” in shop terms.

A lot of the time, the cause is simple:
Operators have been living in six-wheel drive too long.

When the tires aren’t allowed to slip naturally, the drivetrain starts fighting itself.

That internal stress has to go somewhere.

Usually, the spider gears lose the battle - and the debris contaminates everything in that area.
