A great day on the course and for our community!

Our team looks forward to the annual golf outing every year, and this year’s event did not disappoint! From breakfast through to dinner, it was a full day of golf, on-course contests, prizes, and valuable time connecting with fellow members of our community... not to mention, a beautiful day!

More importantly, the outing is a major fundraiser for our local Chamber of Commerce, which supports businesses and communities throughout Bucyrus, Galion, and Crestline. Through events held downtown from May to October, the Chamber helps strengthen local businesses and bring our communities together.

We’re proud to sponsor an event that supports the place our employees, customers, and neighbors call home. Thank you to the Crawford County Chamber of Commerce, and everyone who made the outing such a success!

We’re proud to support the next generation of skilled manufacturing professionals through the Pioneer Career and Technology Center.

As Ohio’s fifth-largest vocational school, Pioneer gives high school students hands-on experience in career-focused programs, including Precision Machining here at RHB. Students learn in a professional environment, develop practical skills, and gain valuable insight into the expectations of today’s workforce.

Over the past 2 years we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming two Pioneer students into our machine shop as interns. It has been a very positive experience for our team and a great opportunity to share our knowledge of machining and bronze manufacturing with talented young people beginning their careers.

Today, on Women’s Equality Day, we’re celebrating the women who continue to strengthen our industry.

While this pour might show just one part of the team, RHB has plenty of incredible women helping shape what comes next, from the foundry floor to the office and beyond.

Happy Women's Equality Day! Here’s to more women forging their way forward, one bronze casting at a time!

A Day in the Life of Paul Saunders!

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Ryder-Heil Bronze?

As part of our ‘Day in the Life’ series, we’re introducing Paul Saunders, Production Control Manager, who has been part of the Ryder-Heil Bronze team for an incredible 22 years!

Paul plays a key role in keeping production moving. From finding the right patterns for customer parts and working out weights and pricing, to running the foundry side of the shop and coordinating with the machine shop, there’s plenty to keep him busy.

His role is all about making sure parts are completed when customers need them, while also ensuring the machine shop always has work ready to go. Whether we’re producing finished castings that move on to machining or rough castings that are supplied as they are, Paul helps keep everything running smoothly.

When asked what has helped him throughout his career, Paul says it’s been working with the older guys who came before him and understanding what worked in the past. That experience and knowledge continue to play an important part in his role today.

And what does Paul enjoy most about his job? “I like running the numbers and joking with the guys.”

It’s the knowledge, experience and people behind the process that help us deliver the quality our customers rely on.

Thanks for giving us an insight into your working day, Paul!

WARNING!!!! This is not a scene from a spacecraft or the surface of Mars... this is just another day in the world of bronze manufacturing!

Don't you think there’s something almost otherworldly about molten bronze meeting sand... glowing, textured, and captured in a moment that looks more like deep space than a foundry.

Check this out!

At first glance, it just looks like a block of red sand, but this is actually one of the most important parts of the casting process.

This sand core is carefully shaped to create the internal cavities of a bronze casting. After it's made, it's fired...changing from red to gray as it becomes heat resistant enough to handle molten bronze.

During the pour, it has to stay perfectly centered, resist the force of the metal, allow gases to escape, and then, once the bronze has cooled, it does the exact opposite: it breaks apart so the finished casting can be revealed.

Sometimes the most important part of a casting is the part you'll never see!

Back in May, we launched our monthly Attendance Award Program to recognize the team members who consistently show up and help keep our foundry/ machine shop running strong.

Each month, every employee with no late arrivals and no call-offs is entered into a drawing for a prize package valued at $100. It's our way of saying thank you to the people who demonstrate reliability and commitment every day.

Some of this year's prizes have included a Zero Gravity Lounge Chair, a Pro Trail Camera, a Patriotic Cooler & Tumbler, Water Park Tickets and even cash!

Congratulations to our winners so far:
🥇 May: Steve B
🥇 June: Jeramie H
🥇 July: Jason S

Thank you to everyone who shows up, works hard, and helps make our team successful. We appreciate you and we're looking forward to celebrating more winners throughout the year!

Ever wondered what it takes to transform solid bronze into molten metal ready for casting?

Take a behind-the-scenes look inside our foundry as our furnace gets to work. This video captures the journey from solid bronze bars to a perfectly prepared melt, ready to be poured into the next stage of production.

Watch as our team:

• Adds the bronze bars to the furnace
• Monitors the melt and checks the temperature
• Carefully stirs and scrapes the furnace to ensure an even melt
• Skims away impurities for the highest-quality finish
• Transfers the molten bronze to the pouring area

From start to finish, the entire melting process takes around 45 minutes, with precision and quality at every step.

At Ryder Heil Bronze, some of the best conversations happen outside the foundry.
Our owner, Herb, wanted a space where our employees could gather, relax, and enjoy time together. That vision became a reality with the addition of our picnic pavilion in late 2024!

Since then, we've been hosting monthly cookouts from April through October, and they've quickly become a favorite tradition. We're proud to serve locally sourced hamburgers and hot dogs made with beef from a local butcher shop, along with bratwurst, shredded chicken sandwiches (a true Midwest favorite!), and plenty of delicious sides.

A special shout-out to Paul Saunders, who keeps the grill going and does a fantastic job making sure everyone leaves with a full plate and a smile.

We're grateful for the hardworking people who make Ryder Heil what it is every day, and we're happy to provide opportunities like these to enjoy a meal together, catch up, and build an even stronger team.

Here's to great food, great company, and making the most of summer! Happy International Friendship Day!
