If you don't like unexpected AC issues in the summer, then here's our friendly FYI after last night's storm to avoid that 🙏

When there's lightning in the area that causes your lights to flicker, it's a good idea to turn your AC off to prevent your unit from short cycling. Short cycling is when your unit quickly turns off and on, which can potentially damage your unit when it happens frequently.

Your lights flickering means you can be losing power on and off rapidly, and this is what causes your unit to short cycle. Some thermostats have a 5 minute delay to help prevent this, but unfortunately there's cases where the thermostat still doesn’t notice this happening.

This is why we turned our own unit off last night after our lights flickered a few times. Luckily it didn't last too long, so we were able to turn our unit back on before we noticed any temperature difference in our home. Sometimes it's just better to be safe than sorry.

This homeowner came to us for a free second opinion after experiencing AC issues in their NEWLY built 2025 home in the Crosswinds community of Kyle.

The builder sent their HVAC company out multiple times before us, claiming they fixed it each time, however we found the following at our own independent evaluation:

- A leak at the outdoor unit (as seen in video)
- Secondary drain pan not level and falling forward (this could cause major ceiling issues if water was to over flow)
-Leak detection board improperly wired (this could lead to potential issues with hvac system and possible fire)
-Fresh air system ducts not connected properly and leaking air

Today we honor and remember all of the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

One of those beloved men was Hector Martinez Jr., who passed in a car accident on February 8th, 2009 at 19 years old while stationed in Fort Bliss, before he was to be deployed to Iraq.

He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, and husband who cared for his friends and family deeply. He loved his mom's home-made meals, spending time with his father, and playing football. He also always made an effort to stay in touch with loved ones no matter the time or distance between them.

Thank you, Hector, and to all the other men and women who were never able to return home. You and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🤍

This is not what you want to see coming out of your AC drain lines... 🚫 🫤

This homeowner in Indian Hills Ranch of Kyle recently joined our maintenance family. At our very first visit, we noticed her AC drain lines were severely clogged. This was surprising considering she was on another HVAC company's maintenance plan before coming to us...

It was clear her drain lines were not properly flushed in a long time, which was unacceptable for our standards.

We cleared them out, then came back a week later for a follow-up flush at no extra charge (because that's just what the job required and the right thing to do).
