If you are not aware, you need to be. The prices for HVAC equipment and repairs is at an all time high, and only getting higher!
If you have a system over 10 years old or one that is limping by and you are just trying to get by one more summer, the cost of a heating and cooling system is going to spike again and again.
If your furnace and air conditioner is more than 15/years old, you’d do yourself a huge favor to replace the equipment now!
The trend I’m seeing is repeated 20%, if not more, annual price increases on the costs of heating & cooling system replacements and doubling the cost every 5 years…
EVERY manufacturer has and continues to notify us of price increases, what seems like every few months.
If your system is low on refrigerant and you need some put in, please understand that the prices of refrigerant have gone crazy also. For 410a refrigerant we’ve seen the price basically triple. If you have the old r22 refrigerant that has been phased out, you basically need to replace your system. The prices for r22 refrigerant are astronomical.
Don’t even get me started on the supply chain and the fact that we are waiting WEEKS for parts to come in. All the while we have customers sitting without air conditioning.
This summer is going to be brutal. Please stay proactive on this and don’t wait. Things are only going to get worse!
And please give grace to your local hvac company, especially us small family owned businesses. We’re already swamped and are trying our hardest to run a business during all this chaos and skyrocketing prices. We stay awake EVERY night trying to figure out how we can help you get your repairs and fix your problems without breaking the bank.
