In the Field Friday 🚧🌳
This week, we’re taking you to Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, NY, where Watts Environmental Scientist Jett Perillo was in the field monitoring the demolition of the historic White Barn Stable.
According to Park employees, the stable originally housed horses belonging to one of the early wives in the Knox family, who apparently had quite an affinity for horses. The family eventually built a larger stable just uphill from the original.
The White Barn Stable had seen better days, and Jett was there to help ensure its demolition was completed safely and in compliance with Industrial Code Rule 56, Section 11.5-Controlled Demolition. As Project Monitor and Air Sampling Technician, Jett conducted daily air sampling throughout the demolition to monitor for the release of loose debris or hazardous materials.
We had to share these photos because, as Jett put it, “they’re kinda cool.” And we agree! 👏
