DiDonato's first Corporate Challenge is in the books! While the weather started out a little sketchy, it ended up being perfect for the runners. Our team did a great job:
Claire Birkemeier came in first out of our group at 26:43.
Vince Makowski at 31:42
Justin Lucarelli right behind him at 31:43
Madison Cox at 33:28
and Dan Schneider at 34:53
In fact, DiDonato ranked 7th in average time! WAY TO GO!!
And thanks to our spectators/cheerleaders: Matt Ziemba, Kevin & Susan (esp. for securing a great parking spot for us), Bill & Joanne Ratka, Tim & Julie Stearns. And thanks to Tim Stearns for doing all the cooking!
The event is so Buffalo, thousands of people coming together, over 200 companies, seeing old friends and making new ones.
It was a great, fun night. We learned some things for next year and it will be even better in 2027!
Congrats to all of the runners! Great job DiDonato Team!

DiDonato was honored to be awarded the APWA Western Branch 2025 Award of Merit for the Marrano Drive Culvert Replacement project. The Village of Depew received BridgeNY funding to replace the Marrano Drive dual CMPA with a new single span culvert.

The original schedule for the project was to start after school let out for summer and bid out at the end of June with substantial completion by August 29,2025. Due to significant delays in getting the construction contract executed, notice-to-proceed wasn’t issued until July 7, 2025. The contractor then proposed an aggressive schedule, started by the end of July and still met the August 29 completion date.

While a public meeting was not required for this project, the local residents were very visible during the construction period and the on-site inspector and contractor worked diligently to keep everyone informed on the progress of the project as well as warning residents of any downtime for utilities affected by the work. The residents were extremely pleased with the team's diligence, cleanliness, and communication along with the final project.

The Mayor of the Village of Depew accepted the award on behalf of the Design and Construction Team that included:
DiDonato Associates - Project Management & Structural Design
KHEOPS Architecture, Engineering and Survey - Survey & Inspection
JM Davidson Engineering - Hydraulics & Environmental
Terracon - Geotechnical Services
M&P Engineers - Work Zone Traffic Control
E&R General Construction - Construction Contractor

We are also happy to congratulate Don Poleto, Sr. Engineer for the City of Buffalo for earning the Public Works Leader of the Year Award.

DiDonato is proud to be a Board member and active participant in BEAM. The BEAM robotics crew just had an amazing event in Corning. Congrats to all the robotics students for their hard work and their amazing robot! Thank you to Bailey Nardone and all the robotics mentors for supporting the students.

Newsflash! Our Robotics Crew competed in Corning, NY at the end of January. Known as the “Corning Qualifier” event, hosted by FIRST Robotics, students have a chance to compete against other young robotics teams for a spot in the state regionals.

This year’s qualifying challenge was to program a robot that had to function temporarily autonomously, before being student controlled, and pick up balls to place them in various chutes. The teams had multiple ways of scoring points and accomplishing the goal.

The BEAM Robotics Team rose victorious and earned a spot in the upcoming FIRST Robotics State Regionals Competition, which will be held in Utica, NY on March 7th and 8th, 2026!

Our Robotics students also were presented the Design Award, for their well-engineered robot!

Congratulations BEAM Robotics on your success! We are cheering you on for the state regionals!
