June is a season; a season of peak vitality, illumination and spiritual abundance. Dominated by the Summer Solstice, this period represents the longest day of light, encouraging us to shed old shadows, cultivate inward growth, and bask in the full manifestation of our goals. Like the blossoming rose (June's flower), this month invites us to peel back layers of our consciousness, embrace our authentic power, and bloom in new and lasting ways.

May is here and there are a few special things to be part of in addition to our wonderful classes:

đź’¦Beth will be leading the Monday Morning Mediation following aqua yoga practice on the 4th

đź’¦Sound Healing Session after water yoga on May13th. (We will do a 50 minute practice with a short break, then approximately a 20 to 30 minute Sound Healing offered by Barb Zago and Karen Roberts at no charge to our yogis.

For us in the Northern Hemisphere, our Spring began with the March equinox and will continue until June solstice. Days grow longer as the earth tilts, triggering the blooming of flowers, the waking of hibernating animals, and the birth of new wildlife, signaling a period of growth.

3 ways we can create growth for ourselves are:

1. Being Consistent: Practice asanas (postures) and pranayama (breath control) regularly to build body awareness.
2. Being Mindful: Focus on sensation rather than just reaching a certain pose, allowing for mental and physical expansion.
3. Being Present: Aim for a "gentler choice of words" and heightened awareness in daily life, rather than just during yoga practice.

Hey Yogis!

Did you know that Feb 1-3 marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox?! It's known as the midpoint of winter; it symbolizes the awakening of the earth and the first stirrings of life. Hi Yogi!

Here is your December Calendar! As you can see, we have scheduled a FREE CLASS on December 10th. This class is a special thank you to our yogis for your continued loyalty and support. It is for ALL attendees that day, and is being gifted to you by (both) Banbury Hot Springs and Hot Springs AquaYoga. We are so grateful for a beautiful pool and pristine mineral springs to be able to practice aqua yoga, so if you know of anyone that would be interested in coming, please invite them that day so that they can get a little "taste" of what we do here.

Following class (at around 10:30), there will be a light brunch/lunch at Banbury. ALL attendees are welcome to join us for this as well. Some yogis have asked if they can bring something -- this is sweet and we always appreciate your generosity, but please do not feel obligated; we will have plenty for everyone. This is a busy time, but we would love to see all of your lovely (and handsome!) faces before next year!

It's been a great year in many ways. Stay positive and make small, loving differences where you can.

The below are excerpts from a QUORA post on Gratitude by Peter Augros, MA. Also - our November Calendar!

Gratitude.
It’s a shift of focus of what is wrong to what is right. It is just as true, but it feels better.
I mean, how many thousands upon thousands of things have to go exactly right for this moment to be as it is, even if you think this moment is boring, it is a work of 1,000 precise successes.
Gratitude is a shift of focus onto what is right, it is learning to feel how lucky you are for all of those thousands of things that actually go your way!
Try to remember that expectations are the enemy of gratitude.
Take some time to realize how right your life actually is and you may feel a bit embarrassed for complaining about it.
That being said, I know that there are some terrible things that happen to people in life.
But isn’t there a way to find gratitude in those moments too?
For example, if my dog passes away, “I’m so grateful for the times we had together. What were the chances that would meet at all in this life, yet I had 10 long years with Bella.”
Gratitude isn’t really about saying “thank you”. It isn’t really about making other people feel good, it’s about you and how you feel. Gratitude overthrows a huge chunk of negative thinking, it is a bulldozer for negative thoughts. Positive thoughts feel good, negative thoughts feel bad. Do you want to feel good? Make gratitude part of your day as often as you can.
Often we make the mistake to save our gratitude for the moment after receiving something. Gratitude isn’t just a feeling to have once in a while, it must be a solid cement foundation to build your spiritual practice upon.

Hey'all ~ on Saturday (October 11th) at West Point Watering Hole, Taura Leigh will be playing! This is an opportunity to support her and also raise a toast to Amanda Hancock (RIP) who were and are important parts of our Aqua Yoga community. The toast is planned for around 5:30 PM and Taura will begin at 6:00 PM. Please come over to Wendell and enjoy! 🎶🎵🎶 Maybe we'll get lucky and see some eagles!
