Friendly reminder when hiring someone to do fencing (or any work on your property): ALWAYS make sure they carry both Workers’ Comp and General Liability Insurance.
If they don’t have coverage and someone gets hurt on your property, or property damage occurs, YOU as the homeowner can potentially be held liable. Saving a little money upfront can turn into a very expensive mistake later.
Before hiring anyone, ask for:
✔️ Proof of Workers’ Comp
✔️ Proof of General Liability Insurance
✔️ A legitimate business license
Protect yourself, your family, and your property. A reputable contractor will never have an issue providing proof of insurance.
Also, if the project is over $25,000 in the state of Tennessee you must have a General Contractor license.
