❄️ Heat Pumps & Ice Weather ❄️

During ice or freezing rain, heat pumps don’t work efficiently and can be damaged if forced to run.

If your outdoor unit is iced over or your home isn’t warming up:

Switch to AUX or Emergency Heat

This will:
✔️ Shuts down or assists the outdoor unit
✔️ Prevents compressor damage
✔️ Stops constant defrost cycling

Do NOT chip ice off or pour hot water on the unit.

Yes, AUX/Emergency heat costs more to run
But it’s far cheaper than replacing a compressor or outdoor coil.
