Last week, all of our project teams came out to Memphis, TN for our annual CA Summit! The week was packed with info sessions and presentations from our project executives, aimed at refreshing knowledge, discussing current industry trends, and learning how we can all work together to improve our business and our client experience. Our very own Bruce Basden joined for a Q&A session with the teams.

The summit was extra special this year as our team got to explore our new Tennessee location (Providential Fabricators) and our Marked Tree, Arkansas location.

At Basden, we think like owners, with everyone having a vested stake in the success of our ESOP. Our annual CA Summit is a great example of how we're always working to improve and build the best team around — one that's always ready to grow. 💪

Meet Daisy! 👋

Daisy is a Project Coordinator at our Brookshire location and has been with us for almost 5 years. Her favorite part of the job is the novelty of every day — no two projects are ever the same, and successfully navigating new challenges keeps her motivated. Her favorite memory with us is our 40th anniversary celebration, getting to celebrate the milestone and the team's hard work together outside the daily grind.

To Daisy, being an Employee Owner means taking personal pride in every piece of steel that leaves the shop, and it drives her to manage projects at the highest level of efficiency, knowing her work directly contributes to her team's success and financial future.

Outside of work, Daisy loves traveling, spending time with her two kids and her cat named Cheese, and is an older twin sister to another Basden employee!

Daisy, thank you for being part of the team!

Meet Miguel! 👋

Miguel is a Shipping/Receiving Lead for Basden Steel's KCR location in Burleson and has been with us for 3 years. His favorite part of working at Basden Steel is the community — everyone is willing to help and share their knowledge, and there's always an opportunity to grow beyond your original role. His favorite memory is Tom's Coffee Truck during ESOP Month, saying a free, unexpected cup of coffee is one of the best feelings there is.

To Miguel, being an Employee Owner means taking pride in his work, knowing it directly benefits his future. He's shown that pride through real results — helping receive and stage 7 million pounds of material in a single month, something never done before, while also closing the gap between the office and live receiving.

Outside of work, Miguel enjoys time with his amazing wife, son, and cat, along with grilling for his family, camping, and road trips.

Today, we remember all the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001. We honor the innocent lives taken, the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless families affected who carry a grief far heavier than we will ever know.

In remembrance we hold an obligation to continue the legacy of those we honor. Today, let's focus not only on the sacrifices given, but give ourselves to sacrificial love, and serve those around us.

Everyone Meet Courtney! 👋

Courtney is a Project Coordinator at Basden Steel's facility in Denham Springs, LA. and has been with us for 2 years! Courtney's favorite thing about working at Basden Steel is seeing each project come to life; from drawing to reality, she is able to watch a project evolve in its development. Her favorite memory at Basden Steel so far is winning the 2025 Rising Eagle Award last year!

To Courtney, being an Employee Owner means that she is personally invested in the success of the company. It gives her a sense of pride, accountability, and purpose as she knows that the work she does contributes both to the growth of the company, and to her own future! She says it motivates her think like an owner: supporting her coworkers and looking for opportunities of improvement and success.

Outside of work, Courtney has two young adult children. She enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and playing pool! Before Basden Steel, she served 11 years in the Military, 4 years on active duty in the Navy as an Aviation Administrator, and 7 years in the Louisiana National Guard as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
