What if the earliest signs of cognitive decline aren’t just found in memory lapses, but in everyday behaviors like driving? 🚗

In this new blog, Dr. Ram Rao explores research showing that subtle changes in driving patterns, such as shorter trips, reduced route variability, and avoiding night driving, may signal early cognitive decline years before clinical symptoms appear.

These findings suggest that real-world, continuous data could serve as a powerful, non-invasive digital biomarker for identifying individuals at risk for mild cognitive impairment.

Spring is the perfect time to clean up not only your home, but also the everyday exposures that can shape brain health.

In her latest blog, Julie Gregory shares three practical ways to support cognitive resilience by cleaning up what fuels your brain, the air you breathe, and the things that touch your body.

In a world that often warns singles about increased health risks, what if the story is more nuanced?

In this month’s blog, Valerie Driscoll offers a fresh and humorous perspective on the potential cognitive benefits of being single, drawing on research by Dr. Ram Rao on the link between marriage and dementia risk.

From independence and problem-solving to everyday life challenges, could these experiences help support brain health?

Spring is a season of renewal. What better time to refresh your brain health habits?

Eggs are rich in choline, a key nutrient that supports memory and healthy brain cell communication, and have been linked to a lower risk of dementia in older adults.

Congratulations to Kerry Rutland, Dr. Neil Nathan, and Dr. Chi Kim on their landmark publication documenting the first example of reversal of cognitive decline in PCA (posterior cortical atrophy) (https://www.mdpi.com/2673-8937/6/2/20 ). PCA symptoms typically involve visual processing, so patients often lose the ability to read, have difficulty seeing cars when they drive, and have difficulty recognizing faces and objects in general. The underlying neuropathology in PCA is nearly always Alzheimer’s, as it was in this patient, and anywhere from 5-15% of Alzheimer’s patients begin with PCA. The patient reported in this paper regained her ability to read, was able to use her computer once again, improved her memory, improved her MRI volumetrics, and reduced her p-tau. Thank you to Kerry, Neil, and Chi for offering hope where there was none before.

At Healing Lyme: The Neuroinflammation–Brain Protection Summit (May 9–13, 2026):

• 40+ experts explore brain-body connections.
• Learn how inflammation impacts memory, mood, and focus
• Discover why symptoms don’t fit neatly into one diagnosis

🧠 Dr. Dale Bredesen will present “Precision Medicine Approach to Alzheimer’s” on May 10, highlighting a personalized, systems-based approach to cognitive decline.

You already know that candy is bad for brain health, but a new study will have you asking if that’s because of the sugar or the… arsenic. 28 popular candies, including Kit Kat, Snickers, and Swedish Fish, were found to have “toxic levels of arsenic” in a recent test. So please put down the sweets, they’re not worth the heavy metal detox you’ll need. https://www.southernliving.com/arsenic-in-candy-11900535
