It is HOT out there, and after the recent storms, we know some of our neighbors are also dealing with power outages.
If your power is out, keep blinds and curtains closed, avoid opening exterior doors, stay on the lowest level of your home, and drink plenty of water. Check on elderly neighbors, young children, and pets, and consider heading to a cooling center or another air-conditioned location if your home becomes unsafe.
Once power is restored, your A/C may take a little time to catch up. Set the thermostat to your normal temperature rather than turning it extremely low, and give the system time to gradually cool your home.
Stay safe, stay hydrated, and take care of each other!
