The vast majority of American homes weren't built with aging in place in mind, often lacking crucial features like zero-step entries and accessible bathrooms. In a recent article published on BabyBoomers.com, Next Day Access Brand President Michele Popelka breaks down why this housing gap matters and how the right modifications can keep you in the home you love. We specialize in bridging that gap with custom ramps, stairlifts, and bathroom upgrades so you never have to compromise on safety or independence.

Some celebrations last one day.
Appreciation should last all year. ❤️

Yesterday was about celebrating moms. Today is about recognizing everything they continue to do behind the scenes for their families, children, spouses, and loved ones.

At NDA Southwest Chicago, we meet so many incredible mothers and caregivers who are balancing work, family, health concerns, and the desire to help loved ones remain safe and independent at home.

Sometimes the smallest accessibility changes can make the biggest difference — helping someone attend a family gathering, safely enter their home, or simply maintain their dignity and independence.

To all the moms, grandmothers, and caregivers in our community: we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you. 💐

A colleague of ours also created a short community survey focused on aging in place and caregiving needs. If you’d like to share your thoughts and experiences, we’d love for you to participate:

Happy Mother’s Day! 💐

Today, we celebrate the moms—the heart of our families and communities. Your love, strength, patience, and unwavering dedication make a difference every single day.

At the heart of what we do is the belief that every mom deserves to feel supported, appreciated, and empowered. Thank you to all the incredible mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who inspire us through the way you care for others.

We see you. We appreciate you. We celebrate you today and every day. 💖

We were recently asked if we would be open to being featured on the back cover of his new book Developing True Grit by Brian P Swift JD —and we said yes.

What resonated most with us was how naturally aligned everything is behind this project.

“Grit” isn’t just a concept—it’s something we see every day in the people we serve. It’s the determination to stay independent, to adapt when life changes, and to keep moving forward with dignity.

At Next Day Access Southwest Chicago, that’s exactly what our work is about.

It also connects closely with Swift Outdoor Accessible Recreation - SOAR, Brian’s nonprofit, which is dedicated to service, advocacy, and supporting individuals and communities in meaningful ways. That shared focus on helping people live fuller, more independent lives is what made this meaningful for us.

We’re grateful to be included in something that reflects resilience, purpose, and real-life strength.
