PCM Company joined Harriman Architects, Engineers + Planners at the Maine Municipal Association Conference, where Will Gatchell of Harriman and Kyla Magnusson of PCM presented on the consequences of “kicking the can” on construction projects.

They shared real cost data from a local public safety project that began design in 2016 before being put on hold for a decade. By 2026, its estimated construction cost had doubled, reflecting not only rising labor and material costs, but also changes in code compliance and design requirements.

Delaying construction can have lasting impacts on municipalities and the communities they serve. Understanding those costs today can help towns make informed decisions for the future.

The PCM team had a great time celebrating Portland Society for Architecture’s 20th anniversary earlier this month. We were proud to sponsor the event and spend the evening catching up with friends and colleagues from across the industry.

PSA has been part of PCM’s New England office from the beginning. It was one of the first organizations we joined after opening our Maine office, helping us build connections with regional firms and become more involved in the local AEC community.

Join us in celebrating Justin Heller's one-year anniversary with PCM Company!🎉

Justin joined PCM as an Assistant Estimator and quickly became a valued member of our estimating team, bringing a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine eagerness to learn and take on new challenges. Over the past year, he has continued to grow in his role, deepening his estimating knowledge and gaining experience across a wide range of projects.

⛳️Last week, the PCM Company team was proud to sponsor, volunteer at, and participate in the ASPE National - Maine Chapter Golf Tournament at Val Halla Golf Club. This annual event funds scholarships for students entering the trades, a mission that PCM proudly supports.

It's always rewarding to step away from the office for a day, catch up with familiar faces, meet new industry peers, and support an organization that continues to invest in the growth of the estimating profession.

We're excited to see the progress taking shape at the Harden Farm Employee Housing project in Acadia National Park! PCM Company was proud to support the design team by providing cost estimating services during multiple phases of the project, helping bring this important investment in park infrastructure to life.

Once complete, the development will add 56 bedrooms to Acadia's employee housing inventory, helping ensure the park can continue to attract and retain the staff needed to support its mission for years to come.
