Montana Resources operates an open pit copper and molybdenum mine in Butte, Montana. The operation comprises the Continental mine, crushers and a concentrator facility where tons of raw ore are processed into high-quality metal concentrates.

Montana Resources is making a major investment in efficiency by replacing decades-old flotation equipment with newer, more advanced technology.

Once the project is complete, we'll go from 960 flotation cells to just 58 — reducing energy use, cutting maintenance needs and improving copper and molybdenum recovery.

The upgrades are expected to save approximately $800,000 in electricity costs each year!

It's all part of our commitment to modernizing operations and investing in the future of mining in Butte.

A visit from across the globe! Montana Resources recently welcomed representatives from Australia and New Zealand as part of their visit to Montana to learn more about mining, critical minerals, and rare earth elements.

As Montana Resources celebrates 40 years of operations, we're continuing to recognize the employees who have been here since the beginning!

Our fourth original "86er" -- Tyke Galle -- joined MR in August 1986 and has been part of the team ever since.

Coming from a ranching background, he was amazed by the sheer size of the equipment at the mine. What started with cleaning and helping on the shovels eventually grew into a career maintaining them and leading the shovel and drill maintenance crews.

We're grateful for his nearly four decades of hard work, experience, and dedication to Montana Resources!

As Montana Resources celebrates 40 years of operations, we're continuing to recognize the employees who have been part of the journey since the beginning!

Meet Lorelei, another one of our original "86ers," who joined MR in June 1986. From the early days of getting operations up and running to the many changes in technology and the workplace over the decades, Lorelei has seen a lot in her 40 years with MR. Through it all, she says it's the people who have made the biggest impression.

We're grateful for Lorelei's years of dedication and the role she's played in Montana Resources' story.

Meet Gerald, another one of our original "86ers" who joined MR in September 1986. Coming from a ranching background, Gerald stepped into an entirely new world when he started working in mining at just 19 years old. What began as an intimidating new challenge turned into a 40-year career!
