Today we started erecting a new parking structure for The Parking Spot in Commerce City. This is just the beginning of 613,637 sq.ft. of steel to be hung.

Our guys had a slight learning “curve” (pun intended) with the curved roof on this 112’ x 80’ hangar at the Colorado Air and Space Port in Watkins. But they’ve been doing a great job on it nonetheless.

Nice little 150’ x 300’ indoor arena we’re putting up in Colorado Springs. Our guys just started this Monday - they are rolling right along!

Maverick Steel is constantly getting told “your bid was too high” or “you’re too expensive”. Well, we are never the cheapest and this is what happens when you do hire the cheapest. We can name numerous things this erector did wrong while starting this building. And don’t get us wrong - we hate to see things like this happen - we hope everyone is safe.

Colorado-based Maverick Steel is looking for an experienced PEMB Foreman to run a 5-man crew. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' PEMB experience, specifically with regard to Simple Saver, IMP's and SSR panels. Must be able to communicate clearly with on-site Superintendents and possess ability to motivate and manage his team productively. Pay starting at $33/hour dependent upon experience and performance. Benefits include take home truck, paid vacation, and medical benefits.

Just a little building we started a couple weeks ago for Waste Management. This building has a 225’ free-span and each rafter section weighs 40,000 #.

Now that the remodel of our new office building is finished, we’d like to show off the before and after of these two buildings. The building to the right was previously a gas station and tire shop. It is now Shooters Bar & Grill, owned by Ron & Tammi. And the building to the left has been several businesses over the past years and is now the new office for Maverick Steel. Both of these buildings were fully remodeled by Maverick Steel.

Maverick Steel, located in Strasburg, is Colorado's largest pre-engineered steel building erector. We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented person to join our team as a Project Estimator. Applicant must have at least 2 years of construction experience (either field or administrative). PEMB experience is preferred but not required.

Duties include:
* Reviewing project plans and specifications
* Preparing cost estimates for labor, materials and equipment
* Conducting site visits
* Preparing bid proposals
* Speaking with potential customers/General Contractors
* Daily interaction with Project Managers and Superintendents

Skills required:
* Knowledge of construction principles and techniques
* Attention to detail
* Ability to read and understand construction plans
* Strong telephone and communication skills
* Proficiency in Word and Xcel

Benefits:

* Medical/Dental/Vision insurance
* Paid time off

Hours are M-F, 40 hours/week. Work is in person, so due to our somewhat remote location, we prefer someone who lives on the I-70 corridor. Pay is $24-$28/hour, depending on experience. Send resume to [email protected].

More pictures of the little project we’re on now. Our guys have been doing an outstanding job on this building! We are right on schedule, with only 3/4 of the crew we bid it at.
