Finished up on this small basement project in Bear Lake. I've been working on another bigger basement in the area so now all the focus will be on that one. Looking to wrap that up within the next 10 days or so then onto the next new build.

Also have 3-4 new builds coming up after that. Going to be a busy ending to my first calendar year in business.

Which reminds me this month marks my 1 year anniversary for Flynn's Finishing 🥳

My next project in Thompsonville. Partial basement, mostly hanging the lid with a few walls. Beam is getting wrapped. Not a bad start for 6 hours by myself throwing 12s up! Of course I forgot to take pics until I already threw some sheets up.

Tomorrow I'll finish the hanging then get to throwing some around.

Been a while since my last post. I've been busy and life has been life. But this project is all wrapped up! Huge custom home with drywall returned windows.

On something a little different this week. Barndominium new build with 12 ft ceilings. Any walls not hung is getting ship lap.

Finishing to a flat profile on the lid. Wrapping up next week then onto the next new build! Then another after that! While still having lots of little projects to juggle.

Mesick job completed. Hung, finished and textured all by myself.

Homeowner was thrilled and wanted business cards to pass out and has already referred me to a builder and a few homeowners. He was a great customer to work for.

Finishing this job the day before vacation was a relief having starting it just 6 days ago.

Oh did I say vacation? Yes, yes I did. Tomorrow I'll be heading to Arizona with my Fiancé to explore and play some softball. With that being said, please be patient in my response time to any inquiries for potential work.

2 new builds will be waiting for me when I get back so really trying to take my mind off of work for the next week.

When a customer asks what's better, texture or flat?

FLAT! All day, more modern and clean look in my opinion. For me it doesn't take much more effort to get a flat lid as opposed to textured. Just a little better eye and some extra care.

Bear Lake job done and primed. Mesick job starting tomorrow, 2024 is off to a 🔥 start!

2nd new build is stocked and ready for my hangers! Roughly 12,500 board ft on this one.

Will be nice having this one local to me here in Cadillac.

So fresh and so clean!

Wrapped up the job up by Petoskey this weekend. Hang, repair, finish, match texture and prime. Turned out clean and the homeowners were on site and were thankful I got it done so quickly (without compromising my work). Turned out clean!

Last pic is next project I'm on today. Just hanging and finishing some lids in a remodel. Hanging 12s by yourself is not ideal but my drywall lift makes it a little easier.

Knocking jobs out one by one and back to back 💪

We are all the way up here in beautiful Petoskey, MI on a new manufactured home!

Why did I travel so far for this one?

It's because this builder doesn't want any other drywaller to work on his homes. He trusts me, he knows I put out an excellent product. He knows I stand by my work and that I strive to not only go the extra mile but to also make sure these homes are taken care of in a timely matter for the homeowners sake.

On today's episode of Framing gone wrong..

This was nearly 3/4 of an inch off which would've made my drywall not sit flush. Now, I could've just hung the drywall and the homeowner may have never even had noticed it. Just took a little extra time and a few shims to make it more even. I believe it's the little things like this make a huge difference as to why I stay so busy.

Basement is finished and ready for some prime! Happy homeowner!

Wrapping up a job in Kingsley this week and starting one up in Harbor Springs. Next week will be Bear Lake then my 2 new builds should be about ready for me after that.
