Several Region 1 high school students, who will be going to the State SkillsUSA Competitin later in February, were all here today on our Gordon County Campus for a “Mock” competition. The top 3 finalists from the region in 6 contests, got a chance to compete and practice fine tuning their skills to make a good showing in Atlanta in a few weeks. We had Cabinetmaking, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical Wiring, Masonry & TeamWorks. They all did a great job and look forward to seeing them compete at State. Thank you to Construction Ready for providing food for everyone and continual support!

We hosted a "GNTC Construction Management Preview Day" back on 12-10-25 to several area high schools here in NW Georgia. They all brought students who are interested in the program after graduation. We had different stations set up in print reading, wall layout, scissor lift obstacle course, site layout and a mini-excavator challenge. We started the day with a presentation on the program, highlighting the classes they will take. We spent some time talking about success stories from former graduates who have gone on and started successful careers in construction. It was a great day for these possible, future students as they begin their decision making about life after graduation.
