If your pressure washer is shaking, stop working immediately. That vibration is a warning sign that your pump is "choking."

Here are the three most common reasons for the shakes and how to fix them in minutes:

1. It’s Gasping for Water

Just like a runner needs air, your pump needs a steady flow of water. If it doesn't get enough, it creates "air bubbles" that compress and cavitate inside the pump.

👀The Check: Is your supply hose kinked? Is your inlet filter filled with debris?

⚙️The Fix: Clean your filters and make sure your water supply is clear and adequate for your size machine.

2. Something is Stuck in a Valve

Even a tiny grain of sand can get stuck in the pump’s check valves. This keeps the valve from closing, making the pump "stutter."

👀The Check: Does the pressure hose "jump" in a steady rhythm?

⚙️The Fix: Unscrew the valve caps and rinse out any dirt or debris you find inside, replace worn O-rings and valves before damage to the pump head.

3. Worn Out O-Rings

If an internal seal is cracked, air or water gets in where it doesn't belong.

👀The Check: Look for water leaking between the pump and the engine, "milky" looking water coming out of the nozzle or if the pump body side oil becomes milky.

⚙️The Fix: It’s time for a basic seal kit. It’s a 20-minute DIY job that saves the whole machine.

👉Pro Tip: 90% of pump vibrations are caused by a dirty water filter.

High season is officially here! Here are 3 simple steps for a better season:

🔹 The Flow Start: Always hold your trigger gun open when starting the engine. This lets the pump flow freely so your starter isn't fighting pressure while turning over.
🔹 Warm Up & Cool Down: Start at low RPM until the engine warms up, then hit full throttle. When you're done, idle it down before shutoff.
🔹 Burner Care: After using heat, flip the burner switch OFF and let water flow through the coil for 1–3 minutes to cool it down.
