On February 6, 1971, astronaut Alan Shepard made history by hitting two golf balls on the lunar surface using a makeshift club attached to a Moon sampling tool.

Because of the Moon's weak gravity and lack of air resistance, Shepard joked that one of the balls traveled “miles and miles and miles.”

It remains one of the most memorable and unexpected moments in space exploration history.

Long before Apollo 13, many people considered 13 an unlucky number. Some hotels skip the 13th floor, some airlines avoid row 13, and many people avoid important events on the 13th day of the month.

When an oxygen tank exploded aboard Apollo 13 in 1970, the mission suddenly became a fight for survival. Against all odds, the astronauts and NASA's ground teams worked together to bring the crew safely home.

Do you think the number 13 is really unlucky, or is it just a superstition?

Before astronauts fly to space, NASA tests every emergency system to keep crews safe.

This abort test demonstrates how the launch escape system can quickly pull astronauts away from a rocket in an emergency, giving them the best chance of survival.

SpaceX has successfully launched its latest Starlink mission this morning at 11:25 a.m. EDT, marking the company's 50th Starlink launch of 2026. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off carrying another batch of Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit, continuing the rapid expansion of the global internet constellation.

Congratulations to the SpaceX team on reaching this impressive milestone!

NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, along with JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui, will share highlights from their 167-day stay aboard the International Space Station. During their mission, the crew carried out important scientific research and technology demonstrations to help improve life on Earth and prepare for future deep-space exploration.

What question would you ask the Crew-11 astronauts about life in space?

On 14 November 1969, Apollo 12 faced one of the most dramatic moments in spaceflight history. Just seconds after liftoff, the Saturn V rocket was struck by lightning twice, causing warning lights and system failures inside the spacecraft.

Thanks to the quick actions of the crew and Mission Control, the mission continued safely and went on to become the second successful human landing on the Moon.

During STS-88, astronauts spotted a strange object drifting through space.

Many thought it looked like an alien spacecraft or the "Black Knight Satellite."

The reality? It was just a lost insulation blanket floating above Earth.
