More than 97% of Nebraska's corn is now planted thanks to last week’s rain. Now we’re just hoping the next round of showers shows up in the forecast soon.

Corn and soybean emergence surged during the past week as crops responded to recent moisture, though subsoil reserves remained critically low across much of Nebraska.

We are so proud to partner with the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department to help the department acquire a much-needed new piece of equipment. They are such a hard working group who put their lives on the line - for no pay - to keep our community, and others, safe. And we can't thank them enough.

Over the years, our dedicated volunteers have worked hard through countless fundraisers to equip our department — from essential PPE to our bunker gear washer and everything in between.
In recent years, our focus has shifted toward grass rigs and wildland firefighting equipment. With wildfires becoming more frequent across our region, being prepared to protect our farms, ranches, and community is more important than ever.
We are incredibly grateful to announce that Nebraska Corn Processing LLC has generously donated $30,000 toward our new command/attack firetruck! This truck has already been priced out, and we’re excited to begin building it as soon as the remaining funds are secured.
Thank you to everyone at NCP for believing in us and supporting our department. This is a perfect example of what makes our community so strong — it truly takes all of us working together.
If you’d like to help us reach our goal for this new rig, every donation makes a difference. We couldn’t do this without the continued support of our friends, neighbors, and local businesses.

Thank you from the CVFD

During Renewable Fuels Month, we recognize the role ethanol plays in supporting Nebraska farmers. Nebraska ranks second in ethanol production, showing its importance in our state. As a product of corn, Nebraska farmers are focused on increasing demand.

Year‑round E‑15 access would be a win for both consumers and corn growers. With the summer E‑15 waiver passed last month, drivers will see savings at the pump while corn farmers gain market opportunities.

Year-round E15 is a no brainer, and corn producers need the market demand now. Learn more about American ethanol at https://bit.ly/3Qu2ABl
