Why Poland’s Right Stands With Trump — While Western Europe Panics

As nationalist parties across Western Europe scramble to distance themselves from Donald Trump, Poland’s right is doing the opposite — and for one reason only: security reality.

While figures in France, Germany, and Britain rushed to condemn Trump’s hard talk on Greenland, Poland’s conservative camp, led by Law and Justice (P*S) and its longtime leader Jarosław Kaczyński, chose restraint. Not because they abandoned sovereignty — but because they understand which threat is real.

Western European nationalists preach sovereignty from a position of comfort. Poland does not have that luxury.

On NATO’s eastern flank, borders with Russia and Belarus shape every strategic calculation. For Poland, American troops, intelligence, weapons systems, and nuclear deterrence are not abstract talking points — they are the backbone of national survival. That’s why P*S refuses to publicly clash with Washington, even when Trump’s rhetoric unsettles Brussels elites.

From P*S’s perspective, Greenland is distant. Russia is not.

This worldview goes deeper. Poland’s right sees the greatest long-term danger not in Washington, but in Brussels and Berlin — in an increasingly centralized EU that weakens national governments, overrides voters, and advances federalization through backdoor regulations. In that equation, U.S. pressure is temporary. EU power grabs are structural.

That logic also explains P*S’s alignment with Karol Nawrocki, whose security advisers openly argue that a strategic alliance requires consistency — not emotional grandstanding. Sovereignty at home comes first. Everything else is weighed against the question: Who will defend Poland if war comes?

But the strategy carries risks. New right-wing forces, including Grzegorz Braun, accuse P*S of selective sovereignty — tough on the EU, silent toward the U.S. And critics warn that Trump’s “power over principle” logic could one day be applied to Poland itself.

Still, P*S is betting on hard realism over moral theatrics — and on Trump as part of a broader nationalist push that could fracture EU unity and weaken German dominance.

⚠️ WARNING: Do NOT rely on CarMax! They are a total scam. CarMax knows which vehicles were used as taxis or UBER cars — but they don’t tell you!

I am furious that they allowed my son to buy a former taxi/Uber vehicle full of hidden problems. We trusted them, and they completely failed us. Buyers beware — CarMax only cares about selling cars, not about honesty or safety.
