When we say the right extension cord matters, this is not us being dramatic. The plug already handled that part for us. 😅

Here’s a recent job we did where the cord being used to power this RV wasn’t rated to safely carry the electrical load. It overheated badly enough that the plug and outlet melted together, creating a very real & dangerous fire hazard.

We removed the damaged equipment, installed a new outdoor receptacle with a weatherproof cover, and replaced the cord with one properly rated for the RV’s electrical demand.

Extension cords aren’t one-size-fits-all. The correct cord depends on:

• How many amps the equipment requires
• The cord’s wire gauge and amperage rating
• The length of the cord
• Whether it is rated for outdoor use
• The condition of every plug and connection

Just because a cord fits doesn’t mean it can safely power what’s connected to it.

If a cord, plug, or outlet ever feels unusually warm, smells like burning plastic, looks discolored, sparks, or begins to melt, stop using it immediately. The damaged components should be replaced, and the entire setup should be inspected before being used again.

Electrical safety often comes down to the details that are easy to overlook, until they become a much bigger problem.

We’ve had the privilege of taking care of many projects both big and small for this customer over the years, and it’s always rewarding to come back and see work we completed years ago still looking this good.

Lake homes require constant upkeep. Between the sun, weather, water and age, quality materials and proper installation make a big difference in how well a project holds up.
This deck and screened-in area are a great example. A project we did several years ago: built to look good, built to be enjoyed, and built to last.

Little before and after of fixing someone else's work. Not sure the last guy had much experience with drywall.

After taking payment in full and leaving behind unacceptable workmanship, we came in, sanded, mudded, and repeated the process until we achieved the smoothest surface possible before applying texture.

We still have more work to complete here, so follow along to see the finished transformation.

When these homeowners called us, the project had been left unfinished and abandoned. Just left with some destroyed bathrooms and nowhere to even use the toilet. Unsure how they were going to move forward. We stepped in, corrected all the issues we encountered, and completed both bathroom transformations that we are very proud of. Here's the before and after.
